What is Tanzania's vehicle age limit for imports?

Tanzania enforces an 8-year maximum vehicle age, calculated from the date of manufacture to the vehicle's arrival at the port of Dar es Salaam. Vehicles exceeding this limit are refused entry rather than simply taxed at a higher rate, so it is a hard compliance line, not a cost trade-off. Use the calculator to check any specific used vehicle against this limit before ordering.

What changed with Nigeria's import duty on used vehicles in 2026?

Nigeria's National Automotive Council (NAC) Levy — a duty applied to used vehicle imports — was reduced from 15% to 5% of CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value, effective 2026-07-01. Combined with Nigeria's LHD-only import policy, this makes Nigeria our top-priority destination for both new and used pickups and 4x4s. Vehicles must still be no more than 12 years old at import. Use our landed-cost calculator to see the effect on a specific vehicle.

Can I import a left-hand-drive Land Cruiser into Kenya?

As of 2026-01-01, Kenya's KEBS import standard requires used vehicles to be right-hand-drive (RHD) and registered in 2019 or later. Left-hand-drive vehicles — which make up our entire lineup — do not qualify, except for specialty categories such as ambulances and fire trucks. We do not recommend or actively quote Kenya as a destination for this reason. See our Kenya market page for details, or contact us if your situation involves one of the narrow exceptions.

Does Ethiopia's 2024 fuel-vehicle import ban apply to pickup trucks?

Since 2024-01-29, Ethiopia's transport and logistics authority has restricted general/private import of internal-combustion-engine vehicles with fewer than 10 seats. Passenger SUVs like the Tank 300 fall within the scope buyers should be cautious about. Plug-in hybrid models such as the Tank 500 Hi4-T may offer a workaround, but we have not independently confirmed blanket exemption status for every vehicle class or plug-in hybrid model. Message us before placing an Ethiopia order so we can verify current eligibility for your specific vehicle.
