For overseas dealers and fleet buyers, China remains one of the broadest sources of new pickups and 4x4 off-road SUVs. At the same time, the way vehicles are sourced and documented has become more disciplined. Listings that once blurred the line between new and used are giving way to two clearer categories: genuinely new vehicles for export, and genuine used units with real mileage and history. This post explains how to source either category in a way that protects your margin and your reputation in your home market.

Two clear sourcing tracks

Most buyers today fall into one of two tracks, and it helps to decide which one fits your market before you request quotes.

New vehicles for export

New China pickups and 4x4 SUVs are quoted on FOB terms, with ranges that depend on model, trim, configuration and order volume. RuggedRides Export works with brands including GWM, JAC, Foton, Dongfeng, JMC, Maxus, ZX Auto and Changan, among others. New units suit fleet buyers who need consistent specification across a batch and dealers who want current model-year stock. Browse the available lines on our pickups and 4x4 SUV pages.

Used LHD 4x4 stock

We also hold a physical stock of used left-hand-drive 4x4 vehicles, each with a stock number and real photos. This stock includes the Tank 300, Prado (2016–2019), BJ40, Land Cruiser, Patrol, Wrangler and Gladiator. Used units are price on request, because condition, mileage and specification vary from unit to unit. For buyers who want a specific model, examples include the Tank 300 4x4, BAIC BJ40 4x4, Nissan Patrol, Land Cruiser 300 / Prado 250 and Land Cruiser 70. A dedicated used Prado page covers that model line in more detail.

All vehicles we supply are left-hand drive. We do not supply right-hand-drive units.

Why documentation discipline matters

The shift away from loosely defined listings is good news for serious buyers. Clean paperwork reduces disputes at destination, speeds clearance and makes it easier to resell with confidence. When you evaluate an offer, ask for the vehicle's identity details, configuration and, for used units, the recorded mileage and condition notes. Then match those details against the inspection report and the shipping documents before you commit.

Documents you should expect

For a typical order, the export document set includes:

  • Export invoice — the commercial basis for the shipment
  • Packing list — what is in the shipment and how it is packed
  • Bill of lading — the transport document issued by the carrier
  • Certificate of origin — supporting origin status at destination

Destination markets may require additional conformity or registration paperwork. Requirements differ by country and by vehicle type, so confirm the exact list for your market with the export desk before the order is finalised.

Inspection before deposit

Third-party inspection before deposit is available. This is the single most useful step for buyers ordering remotely, and it applies to both new and used units. For used stock, an inspection confirms condition and helps you verify that the unit matches its description and photos. For new units, it confirms specification and configuration before the vehicle leaves the yard. Build the inspection into your timeline rather than treating it as an optional extra.

A practical order sequence

  1. Define the requirement. Model, trim, drivetrain, quantity and destination port.
  2. Request a quotation. New models are quoted as FOB ranges; used units are price on request.
  3. Review the unit or specification. Use stock numbers and real photos for used units.
  4. Arrange inspection. Third-party inspection before deposit is available on request.
  5. Confirm commercial terms. Payment method, documentation and shipping schedule are agreed with the export desk.
  6. Ship and clear. Documents are issued and sent to you or your clearing agent.

Costs, duties and transit times

Duty rates, VAT, transit times and warranty terms vary by order and destination. We do not publish fixed figures because they change with route, vehicle type and market rules. The export desk confirms these per order, so ask for a written summary for your specific shipment. You can also review our import process overview and use the calculator as a starting point for your own landed-cost model.

Markets we ship to

We ship to 30 markets across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and Latin America. Route options, port pairs and schedules are confirmed per order. See the destinations page for the regions we serve, and check the answers section for common sourcing questions.

Choosing a supplier

RuggedRides Export is operated by Anhui Zhongsu Luosi Automobile Sales Co., Ltd in China. We focus on new pickups and 4x4 SUVs plus a physical used LHD 4x4 stock. When comparing suppliers, look for clear stock identification, real photos, a defined document set and a willingness to support inspection before deposit. Those four points tell you more about reliability than any listing headline.

Next steps

If you are building a sourcing plan for pickups or 4x4 SUVs, start with the model lines on pickups and 4x4, then send your requirement to the export desk. Include your destination port, quantity and target specification so the team can confirm availability, documentation and shipping options for your order.
