Buyers sourcing pickups and 4x4 SUVs from China face a market that is broad, fast-moving and uneven in quality of information. This guide sets out how a structured export process works in practice, so you can compare offers on equal terms and avoid surprises between deposit and delivery.
Who we are and what we supply
RuggedRides Export is operated by Anhui Zhongsu Luosi Automobile Sales Co., Ltd in China. We export new China pickup trucks and 4x4 off-road SUVs from brands including GWM, JAC, Foton, Dongfeng, JMC, Maxus, ZX Auto and Changan, among others. Alongside the new-vehicle programme we hold a physical stock of used LHD 4x4 units, each with a stock number and real photographs, so you can verify condition before committing.
All vehicles we supply are left-hand drive. We do not supply RHD. Shipments go to around 30 markets across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and Latin America.
New pickups and 4x4 SUVs
New units are quoted on an FOB basis, with ranges that depend on configuration, engine, drivetrain and trim. Because factory specifications and option packs change, the export desk confirms the exact FOB range for your chosen configuration per order rather than publishing a fixed list.
When comparing new offers, ask each supplier for the same information set:
- Exact model year, variant and drivetrain (4x2 or 4x4)
- Engine and transmission specification
- Confirmed colour and any factory options
- Production or allocation status, and expected readiness date
- FOB scope: what is and is not included
You can review current new-model lines on our pickups and 4x4 SUV pages.
Used LHD 4x4 stock
Our used inventory is physical stock, not a sourcing promise. Typical units include the Tank 300, Prado (2016–2019), BJ40, Land Cruiser, Patrol, Wrangler and Gladiator. Each unit carries a stock number and real photos, which lets you shortlist remotely and then request further detail on the specific vehicle.
Representative listings include the Tank 300 4x4, the BAIC BJ40 4x4, the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser 300 / Prado 250 and the Land Cruiser 70. Used Prado units in the 2016–2019 range are listed separately at used Prado.
Used units are price on request. Pricing depends on the specific stock number, condition and destination, and is confirmed by the export desk per order.
Inspection before deposit
For used vehicles, third-party inspection before deposit is available. This is the single most useful risk control in the process. Agree the inspection scope in writing, confirm which stock number is being inspected, and require the report before funds move. For new vehicles, pre-shipment checks focus on specification conformity and condition at handover to the carrier.
Confirm the stock number, the inspection scope and the document set in writing before any deposit is paid. Verbal assurances are not a substitute for a written order confirmation.
Documents supplied
Every shipment is supported by a standard commercial document set:
- Export invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading
- Certificate of origin
Destination authorities may require additional certification or registration steps. Requirements vary by market and change over time, so confirm the applicable list for your country with the export desk and your clearing agent before shipment. Our destinations pages and answers section cover common market questions.
Shipping and routing
We ship to 30 markets across four regions. Routing, sailing frequency and consolidation options depend on the destination port, vessel schedule and vehicle dimensions. Transit times vary by order and are confirmed by the export desk once a booking is proposed.
For fleet buyers, the practical questions are: can units be consolidated on one bill of lading, what is the latest cargo cut-off, and what happens if one unit is delayed. Raise these before booking rather than after.
Duty, VAT and landed cost
Duty rates, VAT and other import charges are set by the destination country and vary by vehicle type, engine size, age and classification. We do not publish rates because they change and because the correct rate depends on your specific shipment. The export desk confirms applicable figures per order, and you should validate them with your own customs broker.
Use the landed cost calculator to structure your estimate, then replace each assumption with a confirmed figure before you commit.
Warranty
Warranty terms vary by order, brand and vehicle type, and are confirmed by the export desk. For used units, condition-based expectations should be documented at inspection stage. Do not assume a warranty position that is not written into your order confirmation.
A workable sequence for dealers and fleet buyers
- Define the requirement: model, drivetrain, quantity, destination port and target timing.
- Shortlist against real listings, using stock numbers and photos for used units.
- Request a written quotation with FOB scope clearly stated for new units, or price on request for used units.
- Arrange third-party inspection before deposit where applicable.
- Confirm the document set and any destination-specific requirements.
- Agree payment terms and booking, then confirm routing and transit with the export desk.
- Validate duty, VAT and clearance steps with your own broker before the vessel arrives.
Where to start
If you are new to importing from China, read the import overview first. Then review pickups and 4x4 SUVs, including our used LHD 4x4 stock, and send your requirement to the export desk for a per-order quotation.
