Dealers and fleet buyers sourcing from China usually face the same first question: should the order be new pickups and 4x4 SUVs, or used LHD 4x4 units from physical stock? RuggedRides Export handles both, and this post explains how to think through the choice, what our used stock actually contains, and how an order moves from enquiry to delivery.
Two sourcing routes under one roof
RuggedRides Export is operated by Anhui Zhongsu Luosi Automobile Sales Co., Ltd in China. We export new China pickup trucks and 4x4 off-road SUVs from brands including GWM, JAC, Foton, Dongfeng, JMC, Maxus, ZX Auto and Changan, and we also hold a physical stock of used LHD 4x4 vehicles. Every used unit carries a stock number and real photos, so you can review the actual vehicle rather than a representative image.
All vehicles we supply are left-hand drive. We do not offer right-hand drive supply. New models are quoted with FOB ranges; used units are price on request, because condition, mileage and specification vary unit by unit.
What the used LHD 4x4 stock contains
Our used stock covers models such as the Tank 300, Prado, BJ40, Land Cruiser, Patrol, Wrangler and Gladiator. For buyers who need a documented, repeatable specification, the Prado stock is the clearest example of how we present used vehicles.
Verified used Prado stock is limited to model years 2016 to 2019 only. Two engines are represented: a 2.7L four-cylinder petrol producing 159 to 163 hp, and a 3.5L V6 petrol producing 280 hp. Both are automatic and all-wheel drive. We do not attribute any other Prado engine or year range to our stock, so please do not plan an order around configurations outside this list.
You can review the current Prado listings at /4x4/prado-used, and the wider used inventory at /4x4/. Other used units in stock include the Tank 300, BJ40, Patrol, Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser 70.
New pickups and 4x4 SUVs: where they fit
New units suit fleet buyers who need uniform specification across a batch, factory warranty terms and a predictable delivery schedule. Because new models are quoted as FOB ranges, the export desk confirms the exact figure for your configuration, quantity and destination port. Browse the new ranges at /pickups/ and /4x4/.
A common pattern among dealers is to combine both routes: new pickups for volume fleet accounts, and a small number of used LHD 4x4 units for customers who want a proven platform without waiting for a factory build slot.
Comparing the two routes
| Factor | New pickups and 4x4 SUVs | Used LHD 4x4 stock |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | FOB ranges, confirmed per order | Price on request per unit |
| Specification | Configured to your order | Fixed per stock number |
| Photos | Model reference images | Real photos of the actual unit |
| Lead time | Depends on build and shipping schedule | Depends on stock availability and shipping |
| Best for | Fleet uniformity, volume orders | Fast access to proven 4x4 platforms |
Inspection before you commit
Third-party inspection before deposit is available. This is the single most useful step for a used order: an independent inspection report lets you confirm condition before money moves, and it gives your own customers something concrete to review. For new orders, the export desk can confirm what pre-shipment checks apply to your configuration.
Ask for the stock number, the real photos and the inspection report together. If any of the three is missing, the unit is not ready for a deposit.
Documents that travel with the vehicle
Each shipment is supported by a standard document set:
- Export invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading
- Certificate of origin
Confirm early which additional documents your customs broker requires at destination, so they can be prepared alongside the standard set rather than after departure. Our /import page outlines the import workflow, and /answers/ covers common document questions.
Costs, duty and transit: confirmed per order
Duty rates, VAT, transit times and warranty terms vary by order and are confirmed by the export desk. We deliberately do not publish fixed figures, because a number that is right for one destination and configuration will be wrong for another. When you request a quote, state the destination port, the model and quantity, and whether the order is new or used; the desk will return the applicable terms in writing.
For CIF quotations, note that marine insurance is arranged with the standard CIF uplift applied to the insured value. Your broker can confirm how that insured value is treated for your own landed-cost calculation. The /calculator/ is a useful starting point for structuring a landed-cost estimate before the formal quote arrives.
Markets we ship to
We ship to 30 markets across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and Latin America. Destination coverage, port options and documentary requirements differ by market; see /destinations/ for the current list. If your market is not shown, ask the export desk before assuming it is unavailable.
A practical order sequence
- Define the requirement: new or used, model, quantity, destination port.
- For used units, request the stock number, real photos and inspection report.
- Arrange third-party inspection before deposit where applicable.
- Receive the written quotation with FOB or CIF terms confirmed for your order.
- Place the deposit and confirm the document set with your broker.
- Track the shipment against the bill of lading and prepare destination clearance.
Next step
If you are weighing used LHD 4x4 stock against new pickups, start with the inventory at /4x4/ and /pickups/, then send your shortlist and destination to the export desk via /contact. Include your target quantity and whether you need left-hand drive confirmation in writing for your market. The desk will confirm pricing, documents and shipping terms for your specific order.
